I liked it. The animation was gorgeous, has a very unique art style and the soundtrack was great. It has overall great presentation, like every Ghibli film.

The story is where I had mixed feelings. I really liked the first half of the film, they made an incredible job at developing the characters and making them likeable and relatable. Whenever something was about to happen to them you legitimely felt something, whether it was joy or sadness.
But then the movie kinda steps away from that and goes on a different direction, which left me feeling a bit cold. I was always wishing they went back to what they were going with in the first half, but that's not what they went with. I was kind of rolling with it, until the plot twist which I did not like at all. It came out of nowhere, and I didn't feel it made much sense.

But otherwise it's a good movie, with some really great characters. I just feel the story was a bit misguided, which ultimately left me a bit dissapointed.
