I don't like a lot of lighthearted, girly anime, but Fruits Basket is just that good. It has some of the best characters in television, and the characterization is dense and detailed, and handles morals and relationships between people really well. It can be very sweet or sad, and was the first show to ever make me cry. The humor is great as well, and the colorful animation shows a lot of creativity. You can't watch this show without becoming a better person.
