One of my favorite unintentional side effects about reading old comics are all those awesome video game ads in there, which remind me of the good ol' days.

Yesterday I read a few issues of Star Wars Jedi Quest, which came out in 2001 and there were ads for #Twisted Metal: Black, #Advance Wars and some PS1 jRPG in it.

Obviously the demographics for people who enjoy reading comics and play console games overlap quite a bit. That's effective marketing right there.

  Editing … I dislike that about old comics. Also, some of the ads are really child-oriented. Even if you're reading a comic with blood and guts, you still have ads for like, Spider-Man underwear, Fruit Roll-Ups, and what have you. Yes, really, Spider-Man underwear!
