I had no idea about the plot of the movie prior to the movie and... I kinda still don't, but it involves porn and that's always a plus!
Videodrome reminds me a lot of another horror movie, called Jacob's Ladder. Both of them are quite bizarre, have this weird feeling to it, blur the lines between what's real and what's not and, when it comes to the creatures and grotesque visuals, by God do they succeed.
But just like in Jacob's Ladder, if you want to see that you have to sit through a bunch of scenes which... are actually pretty good! They set up the atmosphere perfectly!
I just found it weird that at the end they kinda destroyed the lines between reality and hallucination and everything just kinda went ULTRA BATSHIT INSANE FROM HELL AND BEYOND!
Oh well, I guess I wasn't expecting to fully understand it anyways. If you wanna have a 80s mindfuck, this is your movie!
