Like other long running Nintendo franchises, another fine, if not terribly exciting version of a known commondity.

Pros:
-the new tracks are quite good
-underwater and gliding segments actually cool (and feel more interesting than they were implemented in MK 8 in fact)

Cons:
-the retro courses, with a few exceptions, aren't very good, like they're running out of retro tracks to update
-item balance isn't as good as MK8
-driver roster is small and lackluster
-content is quickly exhausted
