It's better than the newer full 3d Sonic games, but it still doesn't capture the feel of the classic Sonic games. The level design is often poor, with leaps of faith, spikes and enemies that you can only avoid if you know their locations in advance, and little room for exploration. It's not a bad game, but there are plenty of better platformers for the DS and plenty of better Sonic games elsewhere.
