This game went for a bit of a different feel than its predecessor. The first game was more atmospheric and creepy, while this one is more fast paced and chaotic. The gameplay changes work well in some ways (melee weapons rock, and the new special infected make the vs. mode a lot better), but you never get that sense of impending dread that you would get in the first game, and I miss that. Anyway, regardless of which L4D game you play, you'll get one of the best multi-player experiences out there.
