For those who think you can't bond with pet rats like you can with a dog or a cat: I had to go out of town for about a week, and my boyfriend was telling me that one of mine had been acting really depressed, and that she perked up considerably from how she'd been acting when I got home. Rats can get really attached to their people. Poor baby.
