In my opinion the 2DS is a good idea. I always hated 3D and looking at stereoskopic 3D hurts my eyes, even when I do it only a few seconds. Plus the price is absolute killer, $130 is really cheap. I've said that I'll never purchase a 3DS but now I'm seriously considering getting this one. It really does look ugly though.

The mono sound is no problem for me because I always use headphones. By the way: this version uses the same power battery as the 3DS XL (1750 mAh).

All in all: Ugly handheld but it plays 3DS and DS games, which is great. In this version I don't need to pay extra for a gimmick I'll never use (3D).
