It is just solitaire, but a good one, maybe the best out there.

The 2-suit game is interesting and teaches you basic strategies. The real challenge is 4 suits -- which makes Spider superior to Klondike. There is a lot of strategy to be found here, in layers.

As you learn the 4-suit game, you will see your winning percentage go up (my wife wins about 40% of the games she plays; playing very carefully, I can win about 70%; with "unlimited undos" from Windows 7´s version, a little patience earns a 100% record).

For what you expect from free Windows solitaire, Spider has a huge value, with zillions of possible starting combinations. All in all, if you are willing to think, Spider will make you never go back to the boring Klondike solitaire
