Saint's Row started out as a blatant rip-off of the Grant Theft Auto series. Saint's Row 2 however gave the series its signature zaniness and a soul of its own. Saint's Row 2 was still very similar to GTA but unlike that series, there were OPTIONAL side-quests. You weren't forced to do tedious race or, tutorial missions to get through the narrative of the game which was a problem with many GTA titles. What sets this game apart though is the INSANE amount of character customization you're given at the start. What's more, the side-quests are all varied, unique and, there are more which are fun to play than there are which are tedious. Saint's Row 2 is just an amazing experience and a great sandbox to play in.
