  Editing … Yea, it's satisfying to do something yourself. I just fixed the fender on my car and I've got to replace the window frame in my room tomorrow. It's also a pain in the ass to be without a car for a day or two or have to be home between the hours of "11 am and 5 pm" for a representative to come around and fix whatever it is that needs fixing. Not to mention boatloads cheaper. Contractors are con-men with a basic knowledge of carpentry. /rant
