Shovel Knight is pretty much the best of Zelda II, Megaman, Ducktales, and Castlevania mixed into one game. By doing that, it really does feels like the best NES game that no one played. It controls really smoothly, and the level design is great, and poses a firm but fair challenge. It's hard to talk about any major issues, because really, there aren't any. The only thing I can possibly think of that could count as a complaint is that it's a pretty short game, but even then it has a New Game+ mode to keep players interested after you finish the main game. If you like 2D platformers at all, I highly recommend checking this game out.
