Darker Than Black starts as a cool action series with noir-style dialogue and tons of attitude. The first season is a slick mash-up of epic battles, unique storylines and an epic battle at the end. Unfortunately, the characters become less interesting after people watch the OVAs and season two. Hei's romance with Yin wears a little thin by the time season two starts. By the time season two starts, a new character becomes the hero. Even though I was disappointed in the second half, the diverse settings were unusual enough to keep me hooked in.
