I had high hopes for this movie, it didn't quite live up to the hype but it is still a pretty good movie with that irresistible 80's charm to it. The movie use the element of suspense rather well and when the vampire action gets going in the later parts of the movie it certainly feels like it was worth all the wait. There are mostly poor acting performances in this film and the supposed drama scenes doesn't really work out but somehow that cheesy acting just adds to the 80's charm that I mentioned earlier. And on another note the hippie grandpa is one of my new favorite old person characters in cinematic history, he single handely delivers the best quotes throughout the entire film.

In the end The Lost Boys is an entertaining 80's flick that anyone with an interest in vampires and/or cheesy 80's stuff should check out.
