The best metal album of all time, in my opinion. My favorite metal album ever and the one that got me into metal music. Terrifically composed from start to finish. Great songs, great riffs, epic, timeless. The first riff I ever learned on the bass was the verse riff from “Creeping Death”. This was actually not the first Metallica album that I got into. I had heard some songs from Black Album but didn’t really get into Metallica until I heard “Until It Sleeps” from Load. Yeah, go figure. Then I went backwards and bought the back catalogue. Ride the Lightening is a true gem.
