SFXT is a mixed bag. On the positive side the main draw of Tekken characters being presented in a 2D SF-style game is handled well and is inviting to people more inclined toward Tekken such as myself. On the other hand Capcom overreached with bad dlc practices in the form of the gem system, which isn't exactly pay-to-win but is still unacceptable for a competitive game. Between that and lock on-disc characters you have to pay more for, it isn't surprising this game sort of flopped. The gameplay is fun (especially after the v.2013 patch which addressed a lot of the pacing issues) and the tag team aspect is is really well done, much cooler than other tag systems. Maybe it's the Tekken aspect, but I actually found this more fun than SF IV or UMVC 3. It not perfect but it has a lot of cool ideas. It's a shame this game was buried by a lot of people after the rough start, even though Capcom had it coming.
