After a long hiatus the Dead or Alive series returns with arguably its' best entry. The fighting mechanics have been revamped to deepen the strategy pretty well, while still being friendly to casuals. As expected the overall feel remains the same (fast and fluid) and the environments are even more elaborate. Graphically, the new character models are good, but some of the environments are surprisingly poor for a late 2012 game. Speaking of characters the two new characters are nice additions to the cast, as are the Virtua Fighter characters making guest appearances. The game has a standard battery of modes, but nothing really involving besides the painfully bizzare story mode. A solid, if not terribly impressive, fighter.
