The last of the Guitar Hero games for the time being, this title's poor sales signaled the decline of the plastic instrument games, but it arguably deserved a better fate. Neversoft tried to mix it up with a cheesy "dark" metal odyssey campaign where players gain powers that affect the gameplay, but doesn't really for the better. It does have a quickplay mode with lots of challenges to keep you busy is actually the better mode in the game. It's has a great setlist if you're into hard rock and metal, but has some ridiculously hard songs too. It actually has a lot good qualities compared to previous band games but the genre and especially this series in particular does feel like it has worn out its welcome.
