I got into this game because the tone struck me as different from Resident Evil and the light source effects looked really cool at the time (lol). And while it does succeed for the most part in those respects nothing about the game particularly stands out. The controls are better than RE but still pretty clunky during action. Not terribly scary or atmospheric but a decent play.
