I wouldn't say I'm a big fan of 3D platformers but I'm a big fan of the Ape Escape series. The series was kicked off because it promoted the new Dualshock controller, but what I really like is the simple premise: catch monkeys! It takes the boring collectathon of most platformers at the time and makes it really fun in a humorous way. You can't help but want to collect all those silly critters!
