Rock on the other hand refers to artists from 1960s to now such as The Beatles and Led Zeppelin - technically it is extremely varied, but bands frequently have a guitar-keyboards-drummer-vocalist lineup, often with instrumental solos, and a 4/4 time (with emphasis on beats 2 and 4). This all being said, they are frequently used interchangeably, and are both some of the loosest restrictions in all of music!
