The Longest Journey is easily one of the last great adventure games. And sadly the sequel Dreamfall was a massive disappointment for me that really did signify the death of the genre in the mainstream as the attempts at making it appeal to the mainstream ruined any possible hope it could have at being a decent game. But this game is simply amazing through and through with an epic and fittingly long campaign as well as a variety of music and environments to explore, and a great cast of characters.
