Notably one of the greatest indie-albums ever made, Neutral Milk Hotel has managed to make a perfect combination of emotional folk and acid rock. The thing that's so great about this record is how there is something here for everyone. It takes you on a roller coaster of violent mood swings, jumping from crashing drums and intense gain to relaxing, fuzzy guitar singing about the miracles of life. It's poetically justified and gets deep motifs across while remaining as rhythmic and synchronized with the music as vocals can get. It's an masterpiece and a drug trip of both the mind and the heart and has yet to be challenged by its experimental combination of instruments and it's lyrical brilliance.
