DeathSmiles is definitely one of the toughest shmups ever made. The difficulty ramps up steadily until the very end, when it throws every single boss at the player. The character designs look great, even if the voices don't really match their age level. Every part of this shooter has the feel of a grade-A arcade shooter, with continue systems and high scores. Good luck for anyone who is trying to finish this with no continues. The action is relentless.
