The story of Star Ocean 2 cemented the series' place in the video game hall of fame. While the first game focused more on intergalactic space technology, the second game focuses on its wonderful cast of characters. Rena and Claude make an excellent team. This is a dense script with surprising plot twists and it deserves its reputation as one of the best Japanese RPGs ever made. Of course, Star Ocean 2 is best known for its extremely intense boss battles near the end of the game.
