The first Persona is one of those old fossils that is strangely fascinating. The game somehow makes dungeon crawling fun, in spite of the PS One's limitations. Persona 1 becomes increasingly frustrating after the halfway point. Enemies can often whittle down the entire party with only a few attacks, forcing players to fuse more powerful summon attacks.

The stale graphics also make it hard for people to connect with any of the characters. Thankfully, the hardcore challenge makes the adventure much more entertaining than it first appears.
