The original Maniac Mansion had plenty of problems with balancing out the characters' abilities, but the music was amazing. As far as I know, this game was a seminal masterpiece of the point-and-click adventure genre. The character theme songs on the NES were eclectic tunes that made chiptune soundtracks outstanding. The story was silly and rudimentary, but the NES versIon showed off the genre's true potential for greatness.
