Valkyria Chronicles II feels more like a fun spin off, rather than a true sequel the original game deserved. Ok, sure, the signature gameplay is here. Not only that, but quite a bit was added to deepen the experience. The game, arguably, has more content than the original. But it's severely lacking in some key areas. Areas that were the stronghold of the original.
Pros: Impressive transition to the portable, packed with content, characters eventually grow on you, gameplay of the original is deepened
Cons: A (massive) step back in terms of story, characters and music, be prepared to play the same maps for the nth time, the story takes its time to get going and falls flat each time it tries to be serious
