As both a single and the second song on the album "Core" by Stone Temple Pilots, "Sex Type Thing" delivered a dangerous, devious, and somewhat disturbing trip into the mind of what I perceive to be a desperate man - both emotionally and sexually. Despite these dark undertones, the song manages to capitalize on the diverseness of lead singer Scott Weiland's voice to offer a memorable chorus that's complimented by the deep, wailing tones heard throughout.
