Basically my same thoughts on Borderlands 2, but I can see where the improvements for the sequel went; the story is good overall and gameplay is fine but I felt the landscapes could have had more personality, I have no problem with the deserted locals; but a little bit of vibe could have made the places more fun to explore; the menu and map systems are not a problem most of the time unless when playing online. Borderlands is a fantastic game worthy of a purchase, while I still think it's sequel is slightly superior, I cannot deny the fun experience I had with the game and that means a lot...
