I never played the original Dead Rising 2; and in a way, I'm happy I didn't: I entered fresh in the narrative and it was really good, not better nor worst than the first, the same feel and emotion I experience with the Willamette incident was in this one too, that is great in any sequel in my opinion; for the rest, well... is pretty much a carbon copy of the first with some tweaks, like the weapon creation and taking zombrex doses every 24 hours; the sandbox mode is fun, and gives a lot of replay value. Great game overall.
