It's a shame the best Mega Man arrived as early as it did, as all future titles now pale in comparison. The original Mega Man had set the template for the platformer/shooter hybrid, and Mega Man 2 took those ideas and transformed them into perfection. Instead of 6 bosses, we now had 8 - a staple of the classic Mega man franchise and the X series as well.
