I have a special place in my heart for the original Mega Man. I don't know what it is, but the game has a very different vibe from its siblings in general. It's not fast-paced like Mega Man 2 or 3; it's very calm and tranquil for an action game, if you can believe that. The weapons aren't the most useful and the color pallet was pretty dull, but I just love this game. For one, the music is absolutely outstanding, even if there aren't as many tracks as in the sequel. Also, it has one of the most underrated tracks on the NES, that being the ending theme which no one remembers because the game is SOO FREAKING DIFFICULT. Mega Man laid the foundation for the series, and while somewhat forgotten today, it's an 8-bit gem in my book.
