Damn, why didn't this exist earlier? Whatever the case, Super Mario Crossover is one of the best indie projects I've ever played. It's such a simple concept - get the top-tier NES characters into the game that would indirectly allow them to be created, and allow for different gameplay styles depending on the character. Bill Riser from Contra pumps goombas full of lead, Sofia from Blaster Master sends heat-seeking missiles at those goddamn Hammer Bros., and Mega Man uses Rush to hi-jump over those crazy obstacles. A huge amount of unlockables, tons of variety with each playthrough, and even though it's the game that literally ALL of us played it still feels fresh. Plus, music from each character's game is a nice touch. Well done.
