You know, it always pisses me off when I see hate for the Halo franchise, because usually it's just the Bandwagon Effect at its highest degree. I still think it's one of the best games of this generation, doing everything right whilst introducing new concepts that would stick with the series from then on. It stands as the most colorful in the series, a stark contrast to the generalization of the FP genre. The story wasn't all that memorable, and the equipment didn't add much, but the multiplayer was an absolute blast, the Forge mode was unique and innovative for the time, and the music was admittedly awesome. But what made Halo 3 really shine was the Custom Games option. Hopefully 343 knows what it's doing and delivers greatness.
