There are no words to describe how it feels and no picture can do it justice. It’s a complete sensory experience. There is a sudden change in atmosphere. At about 85% you start to feel a slight change in light, you don’t see the change, you feel it. Then it’s the cold, the temperature dropping multiple degrees. It's oppressive. It has nothing to do with nightfall, with the horizon staying lit all around.

I wasn't sure if it was the cold or the eclipse, but I had goosebumps and was shivering. It was the shortest 3.5 minutes of my entire life.
I drove 2*500k to be at the center of its trajectory and I would drive twice that distance and more to see it again.

A partial eclipse really is underwhelming though. Bellow 80-85% you wouldn't even know it's happening. People in the partial zones have no idea what they were missing and those in the margins know too well how much they missed by having only seconds to witness this amazing phenomenon.
