I replayed a good deal of this alongside the new Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and it was a blast seeing how the scenes compare to each other. One thing I had forgotten about the original was just how atrocious the translation was. There are scenes where the dialogue between characters is entirely indecipherable. But it doesn't ultimately matter, as the game is simple to navigate and it never feels like you are lost at any point. Such a great game. Barret is my favourite character in both versions. He's GOAT.
