I got a Moto G Stylus. It was missing the stylus but I don't care, it's a cool looking phone at a good price and the screen was big compared to what I have.

But... it smells like fucking deoderant or something. I didn't notice the smell until I started using it, as though the heat from the components is feuling the intensity of odor, like a scented candle.

Thankfully I will not be putting up with it. I learned from my experience owning an even worse smelling slim Vita that this is 110% a deal breaker for me and I make no apology for it. The phone is going in the bin the moment I find a replacement.

I've suddenly become grateful for owning neat stuff that *doesn't* smell like cancer.. whether or not I actually have any use for those things. Prime example being my New 3DS XL which actually smells good somehow, WTF. Typically all smells are bad no matter what but in all the time I've owned it I found it pleasant. It has a mild leather-chair like smell. Gives it prestige. Buut.... I am hard pressed to find a reason to ever use it, other than to draw using Colors 3D which realistically I will never do. Even if I decide to just play games on it, a 2DS is vastly superior for that purpose. So I'm just sitting on a 3DS that does nothing and can't bring myself to part w it.

I am cursed. Maybe also a little sad, deranged. But definitely cursed.

Editing … Disgusting. Just get a new one and sell the stinky one to someone with no nose. I almost never buy used electronics because there is always something wrong with them. Previous owners constantly "forget" to mention things.

Editing … I actually left the aforementioned Vita by the window for like a week, periodically wiping it off w a damp napkin. It nearly worked. But some of the smell was coming from inside one of the speakers, so there was nothing more I could do.

Editing … Oh yeah I sold it a while ago. It was during my great Vita purge where I decided to sell all my Vitas starting w my slim models them my OLED. But I ended up keeping the OLED after nobody bought. ¯\(ツ) p.s. This was the cause of me hitting the $600 selling limit on mercari that one time, which made it so I couldn't sell anything else unless I filed for taxes.

Editing … My bad, this phone smells too. Like bar soap. I find it interesting that this was never a problem with any of the phones I bought up to this point, and now it happens twice in a row. I'm starting to believe it might be some new age shit, like I have a negative spirit energy or something, because things like this keep happening to me. I'm just cursed I guess. (By any chance are there any Why Files episodes that deal with this sort of thing?) Anyway, it might actually be worth to just go with a new phone at this point, instead of always buying used. In the meantime however I bought like three more phones because I don't deserve to deal w this smell a second longer than I have to.

Editing … No it's definitely not that. I like the phone btw, so I bought another one. I like how the camera bump is flush w the casing sort of, instead of just this metal piece sticking out. It's also the largest screen size phone I've ever owned. (6.6 inches) https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a23-pictures-11373.php

Editing … I love my phone. The battery lasts for 2 weeks and it has a special function that makes it impossible for people to contact me in any other way than sms of phone call. Also their silly gifs don't work so I just see strange symbols to represent how stupid their idea was to send me weird pictures.

Editing … Mine just survived because it's ancient tech and so it's not that breakable. "Water proof" is relative. Most waterproof phones cannot be submerged and if they can not for that long.
