Well I've started a Metal Gear series run. I played through Metal Gear MSX (via PS3 HD Collection). Very interesting to see the the roots to my favorite video game series. Amazing how everything from the later series is represented right here in the game from 1987. There is certainly a learning curve and several annoyances but overall a very fun game that really hasn't been ripped off all that much over the years. I've tried searching for similar style games and I'm really not finding much except parody attempts. I then played Metal Gear (NES) which is a fine game in itself. I think the layout is a bit messier and the additions like the jungle areas and the computer kind of sucked though. It's definitely a worse version but still fun and has some quirkiness.
