I bought new-without-box Nikes from ebay. The seller neglected to mention that the insides of the shoes have "PROPERTY OF NIKE. NOT FOR RESALE" printed on them. The hell kinda shady Nikes are these? The lettering is the same kind on shirts that will start to peel off after a while. x_x In fact, one of the E's has already started to crack.

That said, they do look new, so there's that. Pristine, in fact. I doubt anyone's even tried them on.

Editing … meh, I shouldn't blame the seller. I probably would've bought the shoes anyway. Letters that peel off are found all over clothing items, this is no different aside from the fact I wasn't expecting it. On that note, the Nike logo on the insoles always comes off after a while, and that's never bothered me. Hmm.. but then again, I've never actually seen the peels. Maybe it's ink of some sort.

Editing … You know, I haven't seen those peels, flakes, or whatever they are either. I'm not sure anyone knows what happens to those prints. Hawking famously wrote that the laws of thermodynamics don't apply to clothing.

Editing … I decided to do a tally of all the Nikes I own, and their sizes, whether they're new or preowned, etc. I own over twenty pairs. Huh..

Editing … I have a pair of Asics that I wear with joggers. I have some Adidas Samba that I wear with trousers/jeans. Then I have smart shoes for smart occasions and a pair of boots. WTF do you do with all those shoes?

Editing … I choose to wear only particular models of Nike which happen to be out of print, so, at one point, I figured it would be a good idea to have a few spares ready for me in the future after my current pair wears out. I began combing ebay for them once or twice. Later I decided to start looking at preowned as well so I have some to use as work shoes, slippers, or whatever. It eventually blossomed into a hobby of sorts.

Editing … You're weird. When a pair wear out just go to the nearest shop and pick the pair they have that you like best. I don't get why you'll only wear certain models? Nobody looking at your feet trust me.

Editing … It's because I discovered they are slip ons and don't require laces. I assume this is unintentional. Though there are actually shoe companies that exclusively make slip ons. (Kizik and Zeba) I have yet to try them though. I was close to buying Kizik once, I created an account and added a pair to my cart (and the shoes were on sale) but I got no further than that. I just didn't imagine that I would like them as much as my Nikes. I could always end up buying a pair someday, I just wish they'd go on sale more often. (Damn, the holidays just ended and in that time I never once checked their website.)

Editing … I have to buy wide trainers because my feet are super fat and wide. But I just buy the next size up sometimes if a shoe doesn't fit just right. They all good after walking in them a few weeks they mold to your feet.

Editing … I have an old email saying I bought purple white womens Nikes, today I opened them and they're more of a gray-lavender. Barely purple at all, just gray. I apparently opened them long ago since the laces and crumpled paper in one of them was missing. I might started wearing these today. That or the Not-For-Resale ones.

Editing … wait, what if I try to scratch off the "not for resale" letters? I cannot see myself wearing the shoes otherwise. But I don't imagine they will come off easily until after I've worn them for a while. (So maybe I should do that?)
