I bought a pair of Nikes from Australia a while back, like new condition. Buuut they had stickers on the insoles, didn't like that. It came off easily, but you could see exactly where the sticker was, like a friggin chalk outline of a dead body at a crime scene, and the entire area is sticky.

So I took the soles out and put them in the wash, they came out still sticky. (dafuq?) I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprised they'd still be sticky since it's not something that would disappear simply after being submerged in water? I dunno..

I don't trust third party insoles. (e.g. Dr. Scholl's) So I did something wonderfully crazy and rukkshardesque. I bought a pair of a completely different Nike shoes and swapped the soles from that pair. However! Being that they are completely different shoes, the soles were also different. (Uh oh, did I fuck up?) The soles on the new shoe are seemingly higher quality and much thicker. Thankfully, they fit the old shoe perfectly but putting on the shoe becomes a very snug fit. They are so cushiony tho! It's like I'm walking on pillows. (I just hope my toes don't get crushed.)

Now here's the weird part. I could technically do this for all my shoes! But probably not a good idea to do it on any shoe size that's smaller than this one. It barely fits me now and it's a size 10. Therefore I should only do it for sizes 10 and 10.5. Bonus points: I do it for size 11 as well? Normally 11 is too big for me, but the added cushioning *might* make 11 wearable for me. Would I risk it though? If I'm that bold I might as well risk trying size 9.5. At least I don't have much to lose there, I could always switch the soles back if it doesn't fit.
