Wow, what a steaming pile of dogshit this was. Not even because it butchers the video game storylines, it's just not a good action film. None of the character motivations make any sense and every actor phoned it in. Best part is the 10 second beach cameo otherwise what a snoozefest.

Editing … Aw jinkies, Coffee. I'm not surprised. I saw those trailers in theaters, boy does this look unwatchable. When I saw how it exceeded some box office projections, I thought I might have to sample it. Might download it in a few months or something. Can't call it shit without tasting it, I always say. Regrettably.

Editing … It's just a shame that a game with such heavy film influence got butchered when adapted for film.. Like the source material is all there but then they just said scrap it all let's just use the character names.

Editing … What do you think filmmakers (or studios) are getting wrong with adapting games to film? The best I've seen is probably Prince of Persia, and I'm not really calling it a particularly good film. It's just, ya know, it's not as bad as the others, and they made some good choices, they got Jake Gyllenhaal and Ben Kingsley.

Editing … I feel like most video game movies go through production hell. I mean Wikipedia names 7 separate directors tied to the production of Uncharted at some point or another.I think people like the Witcher Netflix series. Hopefully they don't screw up the Bioshock series that's going into production.

Editing … *People* like The Witcher Netflix series. I thought it was dumb. It's basically "Marvel's The Witcher." It adapts the same storyline as The Hexer, the earlier Polish TV series (which was overlooked because the preview movie sucked, which happens when you reduce over 10 hours of episodes down to a film). The Hexer's strengths lie in its characters, dialogue, and storytelling, Netflix's The Witcher puts far more emphasis on visual setpieces, and weirdly anachronistic humor that would be more appropriate in a sarcastic tweet.

Editing … Oh you know what, Assassin's Creed is getting a bunch of shows for Netflix. An animated show, an "anime" show (the same low budget 3D as other Netflix "anime?"), and a live-action show. Who knows, maybe we'll luck out. Amazon's Fallout series could be good.
