Do you guys have a favourite Joker? I aim to start rewatching the Batman Animated Series soon and I vaguely recall really enjoying that interpretation, but I am refraining from ranking him or any others that I don't actively remember. So in that regards, my choices are limited, but for now, I'd say my list goes:

    *Very mild spoilers ahead*

1: Mark Hamill - Arkham Universe
2: Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight
    3: Jack Nicholson - Batman
    4: Cameron Monaghan - Gotham

Editing … This is a hard one, but when you say Joker my mind immediately goes to Mark Hamill for his interpretations in both TAS and Arkham games. Not to take away from his interpretation which is amazing, but this probably has to do with my growing up with TAS and then spending so much with with the Arkham games. However, Hamill, Nicholson, Ledger and Phoenix all made fantastic interpretations of the character and each one of them is very memorable in the role. It would be hard for me to rank them, as all 4 of them are so different, yet fantastic imo.

Editing … I still like Heath Ledger's performance. Except I feel like the director rushed the ending to that movie. There's no way that his Joker could coordinate the kidnapping of two people after getting arrested. Oh and setting synchronized bombs in both locations. Maybe the bats**t crazy kidnapping plan could've worked, but I don't think he's clever enough to synchronize two bombs with that many conditions to successfully trigger an explosion.

Editing … Actually, I bet Heath Ledger is actually Fatman from Metal Gear Solid 2. That's the only way he could set that many bombs in a single movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G67-_dk8-yk

Editing … I'd agree with your ranking, even though I've only seen Cameron Monaghan's Joker in clips. Surprised you didn't put Joaquin in there. And I've been watching the Harley Quinn cartoon where Alan Tudyk voices Joker, he's doing a bang up job.

Editing … Joaquin is a tough one. Although I loved the movie and his acting in it, I couldn't bring myself to count his performance as a true portrayal due to his transformation into the character taking place at the end of the movie. By the time he resembles anything close to the Joker, the movie is over.

Editing … Yea it's a fun romp, lots of jokes per minute. I usually turn it on as a background show while I'm doing something and next thing you know I'm sitting seriously watching it forgetting about whatever else I was focused on. Haven't caught up yet. And yea, I understand your logic on Joaquin.

Editing … The DCAU Joker is the definitive one for me. Frankly, the DCAU is pretty definitive for a lot of characters and concepts though. It's that good.

Editing … Here's a controversial take. I was blown away by The Dark Knight when it came out, but I watched it again a couple of years ago and it is a movie that is held together only by Ledger's legendary performance. When you compare it to the Batman Begins (and even TDKR to an extent), the writing is piss poor, the fight scenes are laughable, Bale's Batman (not Bruce Wayne, mind you) is grating, but Ledger's Joker saves this whole movie with his presence (regardless if he's in a scene or not and that is the highest praise I can give an actor).
