This was a pretty fun movie. I really wasn't sure what to expect from it, but it kept me entertained. I'm glad I came back to the DCEU. The quality varies, but they are mostly good fun. I'll start watching the DC cinema releases again if the industry doesn't die.

  Editing … Back when the DCEU was all grimdark Snyder shit, Shazam felt like such a profoundly bad idea, but I'm glad that unlike the MCU they've abandoned any mandate for tonal consistency between films. It had some problems like bringing in the whole Shazam family prematurely, but there are so many good jokes throughout, and damn does that scene with Billy and his mom hit hard.
