( 6.0 ) -- Not sure what the high praise is about. Having just read the book I decided to give it a go. Tbh the book was the weakest of the three I've read so far. (The other two being Goldfinger & Diamonds are Forever) I didn't feel like the plot of why Bond was going after Le Chiffre in the first place was well illustrated in the film. I did like the new versions of old side characters. I don't think the love for Vesper is very believable in the time frame given (although that was a shortcoming of the book as well). I don't know, it just doesn't sit that well with me. There's much better action films out there.
