Oh, hey @Nodley, I just found out that my favourite genre (Industrial) had origins in your home town.
"COUM Transmissions were a Fluxus-inspired performance art collective, formed by Genesis P-Orridge (born Neil Megson) in Hull in 1969. The group consisted of P-Orridge, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Chris Carter and Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson. The "Prostitution" exhibition was their career retrospective. The exhibition garnered controversy, Cosey Fanni Tutti who had made a living from featuring in various pornographic magazines, and was exhibiting these images to link high art's tradition of the female nude and mass culture's obsession with the same."
COUM Transmissions later changed their name to #Throbbing Gristle and created the Industrial music, I thought that was pretty cool.
