This is very surprising to me. Doesn't everyone know about these games? Apparently having well-known games isn't the same as best-selling games. https://twitter.com/joeparlock/status/1043227346692726784
"Basically, only the first season of The Walking Dead made money. Everything between that and Minecraft was a financial failure - Wolf, everything post-Season 1 of TWD, Borderlands, Game of Thrones. All failures."
"Batman t a n k e d and was one of the worst commercial failures for Telltale."
Wonder why they made a sequel then

Sounds like The Walking Dead: The Final Season might conclude?

Editing … I don't know about the wider critical opinion, but from any newsites I've followed, they are often cited as being meduocre to occasionally good, but aside from the first Walking Dead, have never really achieved much.

Editing … Lots of people claim The Wolf Among Us to be their best work, so I'm especially surprised that one was a failure.

Editing … I don't think Fables.is very well known. High quality doesn't always guarantee success. Popularity is more important.

Editing … If all of their games for the last 6 years have been failures, they have no one to blame but themselves since they recycled the same game design over and over. I figured that someone on top was getting rich off these games and screwing over the staff, but now perhaps not. After all, these were all licensed games with preexisting brand appeal, and had relatively cheap simplistic visuals, and generally played out like a machinima with dialogue trees. Hell, over the years I'd argue their game design got more simplistic, with puzzles and QTE's that were a step down from TWD. I thought Until Dawn showed how you can do something really interesting with the choice-driven narrative and QTE heavy gameplay. Sure, that game had a much larger budget and wasn't a runaway success either, but it should have been a wake-up call to Telltale that they needed to step up their game or try a different approach. There are tons of recent adventurey games they could have cribbed ideas from like Brothers, Ghost Trick, the Banner Saga or This War of Mine. Those are the titles that have kept adventure games alive for me.
