Saved!MagusEditing … Definitely not a requirement; Lufia II is actually a prequel to the first game. And while I have fond memories of Lufia I, it's probably not good enough to be worth recommending at this point - it's decent-to-good in context of its era but it's very bland and traditional and shares almost nothing in terms of mechanics with Lufia II other than the stuff that's in every JRPG ever. Lufia II is probably actually improved by going in ignorant of Lufia I because a few plot points become surprising twists, except you're getting the twists in a better game.
