LCD Soundsystem turned into an overnight sensation when this two-CD debut came out. They weren't exactly rock and their beats weren't completely meant for the DJ club scene. However, this album alone nearly defined the whole post-punk scene from 2000 to 2010. James Murphy might have sounded overly pretentious, but his blunt sense of humor was very unique at the time.
